A fall prevention apparatus is provided to prevent the fall of elevator by operating the braking member if the chain is broken in the process of operating elevator by using cylinder and chain. A fall prevention device includes a pair of chain connection outlet falling down to the lower part of the elevator (10) both sides (30), the perpendicular frame in which elevator is risen while the chain is wound in the sprocket wheel (21) which is operated to cylinder in which the rhombic of elevator fixes the end of the chain connected to the chain connections, the braking member entering the recess portion between a pair of side wall facing in perpendicular frames, the joint part which is connected to the rotary joint to the chain connection outlet and is connected to axis of rotation with the braking member, and the outer circumference of the chain connection outlet in which is equipped the spring which the joint part is pressurized in the breaking of the chain and the braking member contacts to both side wall of the perpendicular frame and the braking power is generated.
