A bumper face bar (16) has transversal beam (36) fixed on the surface, and a shock absorber (38) mounted on the surface above the beam. A bumper face-bar skin is integrated to the elements and covers the beam and the absorber. A bodywork panel has a lower edge that is placed opposite to an upper surface of the skin. The bar has stressing units (40) to stress the absorber towards the edge during mounting of the absorber on the surface.
