A traveling state decision method and apparatus utilizing a sensor are provided to more accurately determine whether a moving body is traveling without a separate process of setting the initial value of a navigation terminal. A traveling state decision method utilizing a sensor includes a step for calculating the amount of change(DeltaP) of sensor output signal from the output signal of the sensor sensing the vibration of a moving body(S30), and a step for comparing the calculated amount of change(DeltaP) with a set range about the sensor output signal and determining the stationary state or the traveling state of the moving body(S40,S50,S60).
