An oil separating apparatus is provided to reduce environmental contamination by setting up simply and additionally the oil separating apparatus at the existing waste water treatment facility and separating gasoline and water effectively, and to diminish waste a water treatment cost and a management cost. An emulsion tank(10) stores oil and water. An oil skimmer(20) is installed at one side of the emulsion tank and collects an emulsion fluid. An oil water separator(30) is provided with the emulsion fluid from the oil skimmer, and forms a media layer(32) in order to separate the oil and the water. The oil pump is installed inside the oil water separator, and connected to a supply line(L1) in order to supply the emulsion fluid to the oil water separator and a return line(L2) for circulating a fluid separated into the oil and the water through the media layer to the emulsion tank. A waste oil tank(70) is connected to the oil water separator and waste oil exhaust line(L5) and stores the separated waste oil.
