<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which accurately detects the circulating speed of a circulating endless belt, so that it can prevent out of color registration. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus where a toner image is transferred to the circulating endless belt or a sheet S conveyed on the endless belt includes an emitting part 81 for irradiating the endless belt with light, an image receiving part 82 for receiving reflected light to acquire continuous images of the surface of the endless belt, and a control part 9 for controlling the circulating speed of the endless belt. The control part 9 compares the continuous images, calculates the first circulating speed from a moving amount in the circulating direction of the endless belt, and also detects a cycle T of the change of the moving amount in a direction different from the circulating direction of the endless belt, calculates the second circulating speed of the endless belt from the cycle T, then calculates whether a difference between the first circulating speed and the second circulating speed is within the predetermined range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
