<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for determining whether the connected state of a gas sensor to a sensor control device is abnormal without interrupting the detecting operation of specific gas concentration. <P>SOLUTION: The sensor control device 20 determines whether the connected state of a second pump cell 41 and the sensor control device 20 is normal or abnormal according to whether the current flowing state (a second pump current Ip2) of a second pump cell 41 varied when it is determined that the current flowing state (a first pump current Ip1) of a first pump cell 31 varied. The sensor control device 20 can thereby determine whether the connected state of the second pump cell 41 and sensor control device 20 is normal or abnormal without inputting a signal for abnormality detection to a cell of an NOx sensor 10, and there is no need to interrupt gas detection in determining whether the connected state of the second pump cell 41 and sensor control device 20 is normal or abnormal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
