<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for mounting an electronic component capable of determining whether a sucking nozzle attached to a mounting head has been attached or not by using a line sensor. <P>SOLUTION: While a sucking nozzle of a type A that has been attached is made to travel between a reflector and a light-receiving unit at a constant speed, a line sensor detects the presence of the sucking nozzle periodically, for example, nine times. Based on the frequency of detection of presence, a level (distance) of the sucking nozzle form a reference level position SL is measured. A CPU subtracts a specified value from the maximum value among the measurement values, and stores three times for a detection frequency more than a difference in a RAM. The CPU further multiplies the stored value "three times" at detection time intervals, a moving speed of the sucking nozzle, and 10<SP>-6</SP>, and stores the result in the RAM as the nozzle diameter of the sucking nozzle. The CPU determines whether a nozzle diameter is within a range of a1-a2 of the nozzle diameter of the type A that is stored in the RAM or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
