PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high sensitivity and to provide a form for performing PCR. SOLUTION: In a gene detection chip, a surface to which a nucleic acid probe is formed in a solid phase is a surface which is temperature-controllable and which totally reflects light. Since evanescent light which has oozed out due to incident light onto the surface therefore excites a fluorescent substance, it is possible to highly sensitively detect genes by performing solid-phase PCR including fluorescent-labeled nucleic acids in a microarray in an evanescent region.
