A system for providing a call standby alerting message in a mobile communication network, a method thereof and an apparatus therefor are provided to enable a callee to offer a caller the call standby alerting message prepared by the callee while a ring back tone is occurring. An additional call requesting terminal(110) requests a calling side mobile switching center(140) to enable telephone conversation with a called terminal(180)(S211). The calling side mobile switching center requests a destination side mobile switching center(160) to perform a call connection with the called terminal(S213). The destination side mobile switching center requests the call setting from the called terminal(S215) and receives a response to call establishment from the called terminal(S217). The called terminal transmits a destination side alerting message which informs that the alerting was initialized to the destination side mobile switching center.
