A system for providing a multimedia name card by using augmented reality and a method therefor are provided to allow a user to renew information easily due to modifying dynamic information by using an existing name card. A mobile terminal(300) is equipped with a camera capable of wireless communication. A name card information providing server(500) extracts context information including the voice, image and birthday of the name card user from database according to the request of the mobile terminal and transmits the information to the mobile terminal. A name card information acquisition unit obtains the context information of the name card user and transmits the information to the name card providing server.
