<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron golf club capable of suppressing the lowering of a carry, even if a player hits a ball at a point off the sweet spot, by effectively bending the lower side of a face part. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club is provided with a face member having a face for hitting a ball, a head body 7H having a stopping area for stopping the face member at a prescribed loft angle and a sole part 7b, and a shaft mounted at a prescribed lie angle relative to the head body 7H. The face member has a bending part bending rearward at the end part in the sole side, and the stopping area has an abutment part 13 fixing the tip end face of the bending part of the face member with its abutting on the heat body 7H, and a face receiving part 12 fixing at least the side area of the bending part in a face receiving state.
