PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat device for vehicle capable of establishing smooth interlocking motions of a restricting member for restricting a seatback to a non-interfering position and a releasing member to disengage the restriction. SOLUTION: The seat device for vehicle has the restricting member to restrict the seatback 7 once in a non-interfering position free of interference with a seat cushion 6 when the seatback 7 and the seat cushion 6 are moved to the housing position, and the releasing member 14 to disengage the restriction when the seat cushion 6 has moved to the position free of interference with the seat back 7. The releasing member 14 has a coupling member 14a to couple the restricting member 13 in such a way as able to make relative rotation, an abutting part 14c slidable on the moving locus of a guide projection 65 of the seat cushion 6 and pushed by the projection 65 into movement, and a supporting shaft 14b supported by a long hole member 53.
