PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a risk of floating of a locking spring. SOLUTION: The vehicle seat reclining device includes a machine frame 10; a lid body 60 with an inner toothed gear 61; locking teeth 20 allowing an outer toothed gear 21 to oscillate in the direction of engaging/disengaging with the inner toothed gear; a cam 40 for engaging the outer toothed gear with the inner toothed gear by turning in the locking direction; and the spiralled locking spring 70 for energizing the dam in the locking direction by fitting/fixing a D-ring-shaped inner peripheral end 70a to the outer periphery of an engagement projection part 13 whose cross-section is D-shaped, and engaging an outer peripheral end 70b with the cam 40. A notch 13c is formed in the outer periphery of a root part of the engagement projection part 13, and a bending part 70c disposed at the inner peripheral end 70a of the locking spring 70 composed of a strip plate is engaged with the notch 13c. The engagement projection part is embossed, and the notch 13c is formed by boring a hole 13b with a drill from the rear side of the engagement projection part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
