A sliding-door device in which a doorway is opened and closed by a low-speed door and a high-speed door which performs opening and closing operation faster than the low-speed door. A floodlighting part is provided on the front surface of the high-speed door to emit light obliquely upward. At an upper part of a doorway frame, a light-receiving part which receives the light emitted from the floodlighting part is provided. A judgment part judges the presence and absence of an obstacle near the lateral end of the doorstop of the low-speed door according to the received light quantity received by the light-receiving part.
