<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a standby time of a device on a transmitting side when a content is transferred between device. <P>SOLUTION: The transmitted content is locally enciphered in a step S54 by using the intrinsic information of recording media at the transfer end and recorded on an intermediate buffer which has a recording speed higher than those of recording media in a step S55, and a complete signal is transmitted to the device on the transmitting side from a device on a receiving side in a step S57 when the recording of the content to the intermediate buffer is completed. After that, the received content is decoded in a step 58, transcoded in a step S59, media-enciphered in a step 60 by using the intrinsic information of the recording media, and recorded on the recording media in a step S61.
