BITSTREAM REPLACING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bitstream replacing device capable of performing smooth replacement free of a screen shock in video reproduction when a bitstream is replaced.

SOLUTION: Bitstreams of at least two systems are input, and alternated and output to replace the bitstream of the first system with the bitstream of the second system. A code sequence thinning-out means thins out a code sequence for the bitstream of the second system according to thinning-out control information. A code sequence delay means selectively delay the transmission timing of a prescribed code sequence in the bitstream for the output of the code sequence thinning-out means according to delay control information. For example, a main video bitstream of a digital broadcast is replaced with a CM video bitstream.
