PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively simple structure rotary solenoid that not only substantially uniformly generates a large running torque having no uneven torque through a yoke of a rotary plunger and that of support plate portion, but also obtains superior volume productivity. SOLUTION: In the rotary solenoid, the rotary plunger 10 turns as far as a stop position S from an initial position T against the biasing force of a twisted coil spring Q by electromagnetic suction force, generated between a projecting portion 11 and support plate portion 8a of a yoke 8, since a current is supplied to a coil body 13. Further, a rotary force is applied to a rotary core axis 5 to control a shade-shielding plate, and the like. This results in not only substantially uniformly generating great running torque without uneveness by using a comparatively simple structure but also improves the mass productivity, while attaining and cost effectiveness and space saving.
