PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position information providing device, a vehicle position information providing method, and a computer program capable of reducing the number of times of communications and communication data amount relating to a communication with an information center, and for enabling a load of a communication process and a communication charge to be reduced, while maintaining accuracy of position information of the vehicle to be supplied to the information center from the vehicle. SOLUTION: A present position of the vehicle 4 is acquired by a GPS 41 mounted on the vehicle 4, while the present position of the same vehicle 4 is acquired from a mobile telephone communication network 5 via a mobile telephone 6, then position coordinates of the both are to be compared. The information relating to the present position of the vehicle 4 specified by the GPS 41 is configured to transmit to a probe center 3 when the position coordinates of the both do not match and displacement more than a predetermined distance exists between the position coordinates of the both.
