PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce uneven suppression of unnecessary signals due to spatial non-uniformity of a static magnetic field or a high-frequency magnetic field pulse without raising SAR (Specific Absorption Rate)in an MRI apparatus. SOLUTION: The nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus determines a pulse strength group whose signal strength has an extreme value of 0 or a value closest to 0 in a residual signal curve formed using signals obtained by changing pulse strength of a plurality of signal suppression pulses, and defines a determined pulse strength as the strength of the signal suppression pulse. As for the extreme value, the apparatus changes flip angles while retaining the pulse strength rate to select the minimum value, and then changes one pulse strength alone, and adjusts the pulse strength so that the extreme value is 0 or a value closest to 0.
