METHOD AND SYSTEM TO FACILITATE OPERATING WITHIN FLAME-HOLDING MARGIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system to facilitate operating within flame-holding margins in a turbine engine. SOLUTION: This system includes; at least one turbine nozzle segment coupled within the turbine engine and including at least one vane extending between an inner band 50 and an outer band 46; a design fuel from a fuel source; at least one fuel injection orifice formed in a surface of at least one vane, and optimizing turbine performance using the design fuel; a non-design fuel fed into a pressurized fluid flow through the at least one fuel injection orifice and establishing a jet penetration height; and an operating window 110 facilitating reduction of the jet penetration height and increase of the flame-holding margins.
