The diode has a layer arrangement (3) arranged on a substrate (2). The arrangement includes an electrode layer (4). A photoactive layer (5) is arranged adjacent to the electrode layer. Another electrode layer (6) is arranged adjacent to the photoactive layer. One of the electrode layers includes a drift structure (7) and an electrode type, and the other electrode layer includes another electrode type that does not correspond to the former type. The substrate is semi-transparently arranged on a side of the photoactive layer. The substrate is one of plate, semiconductor wafer or a polymer foil. An independent claim is also included for a procedure for manufacturing an organic drift diode.
