PHENOLIC RESIN AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novolac type phenolic resin excellent in heat resistance and plasma resistance.

SOLUTION: The phenolic resin is produced by reacting a phenolic component and a crosslinking agent, wherein the phenolic component is composed of specific fluorenes having a phenolic hydroxyl group and a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon skeleton (for example, a 9,9-bis(hydroxynaphtyl)fluorene); and the crosslinking agent is composed of a specific aromatic crosslinking agent (an aromatic polyol component such as xylylene glycol or the like, an aromatic aldehyde component such as benzaldehyde or the like).
