<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize control of a power source fan in an image forming system to which an optional power source is to be added, along with an optional device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system is provided with the image forming apparatus body, the body power source 201, a first unit standardly integrated to the body, a second unit which can be extended as an option to the body, the optional power source 205 added when the second unit is added provided with a smaller power source capacity, as compared to the body power source; a power source fan 209 doubling for cooling of the body power source and the optional power source; and a fan driving control means 1222 controlling driving of the power source fan. The system is constituted so that the first unit has the power supplied from the optional power source, when the second unit and the optional power source are extended and the second unit has the power supplied from the body power source.
