PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to use a television broadcast receiver comfortably by preventing the user from being forced to perform a useless operation when rating section information is not included in received television broadcasting. SOLUTION: When a user selects a download section setting menu (S11) while a V-Chip setting picture is displayed on a display part, a control part first decides whether download section information is included in television broadcasting being received at that time (S12). If the download section information is not included in the broadcasting (S12: NO), the control part displays the V-Chip setting picture again on the display part 13 after displaying a message picture (20). Consequently, the download section setting picture is not displayed any more although the download section setting can not be set, and the user is not forced to perform a useless operation any more.
