摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high display quality by preventing deterioration in contrast and luminance and a driving method therefor. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a first substrate 1 and a second substrate 2 opposite to each other; a liquid crystal layer 3 which includes OCB mode liquid crystal and is held in between the first substrate 1 and the second substrate 2; a display part comprised of a plurality of display pixels PX arranged like a matrix; driving parts GD, SD which periodically charge a reverse transfer prevention signal Vb and a video signal Vp to the display pixels PX and wherein, the driving parts GD, SD have means for varying liquid crystal voltage Vd0 held by the display pixels PX after charging the reverse transfer prevention and liquid crystal voltage Vd1 held by the display pixels PX after charging the video signal and making variationΔVd0 of the liquid crystal voltage Vd0 after charging the reverse transfer prevention voltage larger than variationΔVd1 of the liquid crystal voltage Vd1 after charging the video signal.
