PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image capturing apparatus for generating a face image having no influence of reflected light from glasses or the like and of ambient light. SOLUTION: Luminance is calculated for three face images such as a bright pupil face image px, a dark pupil face image py and an ambient light face image pz including regions different in luminance, so that a region detection image and a pupil image with no glass reflection and ambient light such as sunlight are generated.
