PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate face images having various different stereoscopic effects or brightness while having a common basic design of a face such as an outline of the face, or the position or the like of an eye, a nose, or a mouth. SOLUTION: This face image composition method is used for creating a composite face image having the different stereoscopic effect in the face image of a face shape of a prescribed shape. In the composition method, a standard original image standardized such that a characteristic point of the shape conforms to a characteristic point of the face shape of the prescribed shape is created from the face images (original images) of a plurality of persons, principal component is analyzed for color of the standard face image, and a parameter contributing to the stereoscopic effect of the face among eigenvectors (parameters) obtained by the principal component analysis is specified. A color average face wherein the color of the standard face images of the plurality of persons is averaged is calculated, and a weighting coefficient of the parameter contributing to the stereoscopic effect of the face is varied by the color average face to create composite face images having different stereoscopic effects.
