PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device, wherein communication processing between a controller and source drivers is prevented from being made complex by making by communication between the source drivers while preventing an increase in time of a transfer confirmation test of gradation information or the like. SOLUTION: The image display device includes: the controller which receives a video signal from the outside to generate gradation information of the video signal; and a plurality of source drivers which receive the gradation information from the controller to generate information for driving display elements and supplies this information to source electrodes of the display elements to control them. The source driver has a reception port and a transmission port for data return, which are connected to another source drivers in a daisy chain by a serial line, and transmits a test result of the source driver itself to a reception port in a higher order instead of a test result transmitted from a transmission port of a source driver in a lower order only when having authority to transmit.
