PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measuring sensor chip of high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The surface plasmon resonance measuring sensor chip 1 is provided for observing a surface plasmon resonance phenomenon generated by arranging a sample S on one surface of a measuring region 10 and injecting light L1 of predetermined wavelength from the other surface. The measuring region 10 has a metal thin film 100 with plasmonic crystals 102 formed on the surface side where the sample S is arranged, and the plasmonic crystals 102 are formed on the surface of the metal thin film 100 in an arrangement cycleΛin which band gaps adapted to the predetermined wavelength are formed.
