PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorbing dam body which improves the efficiency of force transmission between an impact receiving slab and a filling dam body, and which can enhance damping performance. SOLUTION: An impact receiving surface of the filling dam body is formed in a stepwise pattern, and the whole of the backside of the impact receiving slab is brought into contact along the impact receiving surface of the filling dam body, so that a continuous stepwise propagation surface can be formed between the impact receiving surface of the filling dam body and the backside of the impact receiving slab.
