PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dispersing pulp in a rubber for improving the dispersibility of a pulp composed of a cellulose fiber obtained from wood, straw, bagasse, bamboo grass, reed, etc., in the form of short fibers in a rubber composition, and to provide a pulp-compounded rubber composition produced by the dispersion method. SOLUTION: A cellulose fiber derived from a vegetable instead of the use of a petroleum resource and giving little environmental load is dispersed in a rubber composition by charging the cellulose fiber at least containing short fibers in a dispersion liquid containing 0.5-15 wt.% surfactant and 0.5-20 wt.% softening agent in water, stirring the mixture, dehydrating and drying the dispersion and dispersing the product in a rubber.
