PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy duty radial tire capable of considerably enhancing the rim rubbing resistance, the cracking resistance and the weather resistance of a rubber chafer in contact with a rim flange or the like between a non-loading condition to the 200% loading while the rubber chafer is filled with the normal air pressure, and preventing degradation of the appearance and the durability of the tire. SOLUTION: The heavy duty radial tire is manufactured, in which in a bead part which is continuous to an inner end in the tire radial direction of each side wall part extending inward of the tire radial direction from both ends of a tread part and seated on a rim, the tire is assembled to a regular rim, and a rubber chafer having the loss factor tanδat the temperature of 24°C, the frequency of 52 Hz and the oscillatory strain of 2% is≤0.2 is provided at a part in contact with the regular rim from at least a part in contact with the regular rim while the regular air pressure is filled to a part in contact with the regular rim from the non-loaded state to the 200% loaded state of the regular load.
