PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat efficiency of the whole body by improving thermal insulation performance as much as possible in a fitting part between a rice cooker body and a lid of an electric rice cooker to be fitted to each other. SOLUTION: This electric rice cooker consists of: an inner pot for storing water and rice; a cylindrical bottomed cooker body consisting of an inner case and an outer case and storing the inner pot in the inner case to be taken out freely; the lid fitted to the upper end side opening part circumferential edge of the cooker body; a heating means provided in the lower part of the rice cooker body and heating the inner pot stored in the inner case of the rice cooker body; a heat insulating member in the rice cooker body side provided in the inside of the rice cooker body surrounding the outer circumferential face of the inner case; and a lid side heat insulating member provided inside the lid to cover the opening part of the rice cooker body; wherein the upper end of the insulating member in the rice cooker body side and the outer circumference of the lid side heat insulating member are superposed by a prescribed width or more along the fitting direction when fitting the rice cooker body to the lid so as to improve the thermal insulating performance of the fitting part and reduce the radiation amount to the outside as much as possible.
