<p>Anthelminitc 2-thenyl-azomethines. Title cpds. of formula (I) (where R1 is opt. subst. 1-6C alkyl, pyridyl opt. subst. by 1 or more 1-3C alkyl gps. or aryl opt. mono- or poly subst. by OH, NO2, halogen, R1, OR1 or COR1, R1 being 1-6C alkyl, or R1 is a residue derived from an alkylenediamine such that (I) is a bis-azomethine, and R2, R3 and R4 are H, NO2 or halogen), which have anthelmintic activity against e.g. Ascaris lumbricoides suis and Eiseria spp., are prepd. by reacting a corr. subst. 2-thiophenealdehyde with a corr. aliphatic aromatic or heterocyclic amine, opt. in the presence of a solvent.</p> |
