Impairment in drivability of a vehicle is suppressed when drive force control is performed based on a target acceleration. In the speed change period of an ECT (400) in a vehicle (10), an ECU (100) performs drive force control during speed change. That control includes torque phase processing and inertia phase control and in the torque phase processing, a judgment is made whether the actual acceleration ar of the vehicle (10) became below a lower limit al determined for a target acceleration at which is set based on the accelerator opening. On the other hand, when the actual acceleration ar becomes below the lower limit al, drivability is prevented from deteriorating due to significant variation in actual acceleration and driving force incident to control of driving force for eliminating the relatively large deviation occurring between the target acceleration at and the actual acceleration ar. Consequently, the target acceleration at is corrected based on the deviation between the lower limit al and the actual acceleration ar and that deviation is reduced.
|
