<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid wasting of electric power on a transponder side accompanying standby operation for a beacon frame etc., from a reader/writer in a connection establishment procedure. <P>SOLUTION: Prior to transmission of a beacon signal, the reader/writer transmits an unmodulated carrier or dummy signal. A memory card recovers from a sleep state using as an interruption signal a DC voltage obtained by rectifying the received unmodulated carrier or dummy signal, and starts placing the transponder in standby operation. The reader/writer transmits the beacon signal immediately after transmitting the unmodulated carrier or dummy signal, and then the memory card sends a connection request back in response thereto. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
