PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet post-processing device capable of carrying out speed control of a grip portion discharging a sheet bundle fast onto a paper discharging tray with a good aligning property, without carrying out complicated rotation speed control of a motor. SOLUTION: The sheet post-processing device comprises a stacking tray aligning and stacking sheets successively carried, and a gripping means discharging the sheet bundle stacked on the stacking tray and discharging that onto a paper discharging tray. The gripping means has a moving mechanism reciprocating a grip portion gripping the sheet bundle between a grip position gripping the sheet bundle on the stacking tray and a discharging position on the paper discharging tray. A moving speed from the discharging position of the sheet bundle by the grip portion to the discharging position is set to be faster than speed with which the sheet bundle is placed from the discharging position to the stacking tray. The grip portion grips the sheet bundle on the stacking tray at speed slower than the moving speed from the gripping position to the discharging position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
