PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive for a vehicle capable of mounting a larger electric motor at a location with a limited space. SOLUTION: The length to a center of a rotation axis of a main electric motor 1b from a rail tread 11 is made longer than the length to a center of an axle 5b from the rail tread 11. Thereafter, an under clearance 13 is secured, a gear system 2b is inclined against the rail tread 11 and a suspension device 7 to suspend the gear system 2b from a carriage frame 4 is shortened.
