<p>An apparatus is provided for transmitting a desired state of a system to the system. For example, the apparatus may form part of a display controller supplying a signal representing a scan direction to a scan driver of an active matrix display. The apparatus comprises a first input (DIR) for receiving an input signal representing the desired state. A clock generator (99) generates an output clock signal comprising a sequence of clock pulses. An encoder (90, 94, 96) forces the output clock signal to a level, which is dependent on a value of the input signal, during at least one time slot.</p> |
