DYNAMICS OF TERAHERTZ RADIATION

An apparatus for generation of Terahertz radiation comprising: (A) a Magnon Gain Medium (MGM) (15) (or 64 or 124), wherein the MGM supports generation of nonequilibrium magnons 31 (or 76 or 126); and (B) at least one magnon mirror (MM) (12) and (14) (or 66 and 72; or 112 and 114). The nonequilibrium magnons are generated in the MGM. Interaction between nonequilibrium magnons leads to generation of Terahertz photons (128).
