Tissue Clipping Apparatus comprises Clip including a proximal end receive d within a capsule. Clip includes a clip locking member biased to engage a f irst locking structure of the capsule to lock Clip in the capsule in a close d configuration. Apparatus also comprises a tension member releasably coupli ng Clip to a proximal end of the device which, during use, remains accessibl e to a user. The tension member is coupled to Clip by a joint designed to re lease when subject to a predetermined load to separate Clip from the device, release of the joint releasing the locking member to engage the first locki ng structure.
