<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the damper unit wherein work of setting the braking force is facilitated and the set braking force is stably demonstrated for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The damper unit has a cylinder body 1 and a piston body 2, and at least one of them is attached to a braking object to brake the movement or the relative movement of the braking object. The damper unit is provided with a through-hole 14d formed in the deepest part 14 of the cylinder body 1 facing the piston body 2 and a plug-like body 4 having a shank 40 inserted into the through-hole 14d.
