<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease in detection precision due to an image blur (luminance variation) of a camera when travel characteristics of a mechanical shutter as a trailing curtain are detected by an imaging element. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: the mechanical shutter as the trailing curtain which shields imaging areas of the imaging element from light; a scanning means which starts accumulating electric charges in each imaging area of the imaging element; an exposure control means which makes the imaging element function as a leading-curtain electronic shutter and a trailing-curtain electronic shutter by making a scan for starting accumulating the electric charges and a scan for reading the accumulated electric charges, and also function as a leading-curtain electronic shutter by making a scan for starting accumulating electric charges prior to a travel of the mechanical shutter; and a detection means wherein a first charge accumulating operation by the leading-curtain electronic shutter and trailing-curtain electronic shutter, a second charge accumulating operation by the leading-curtain electronic shutter and mechanical shutter, and a third charge accumulating operation by the leading-curtain electronic shutter and trailing-curtain electronic shutter are performed, and accumulated charge amounts by the first to the third charge accumulating operations are compared to detect travel characteristics of the mechanical shutter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
