<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer which can reduce back blowing of wind to a user, does not scatter waterdrops outside the dryer or drip water to the device periphery so as to maintain hygiene. <P>SOLUTION: The hand dryer is provided with: a case body having a hand insertion part which has an upper part to be opened and a hand is inserted thereinto; a high pressure air stream generator incorporated in the case body for generating high pressure air stream; a nozzle 7 for jetting the high pressure air stream generated by the high pressure air stream generator; a side wall member 1a provided with an air exhaustion opening part 10 for releasing air blown out by the nozzle 7 outside the main body; and a louver 11 which is provided for the air exhaustion opening part 10 of the side wall member 1a and has a plurality of slats inclined downward towards the hand insertion part.
