<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device configured so that developer can be stirred and mixed by using only a single stir member without increasing the device size, and supply of toner to developer stirred and mixed can be optimized in the axial direction of the stir member. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 1 includes: a developer carrier 2 for supplying developer to a latent image carrier; a stir member 3 for supplying developer to the developer carrier 2; and a supply device 4 for supplying fresh toner to a developing tank 1A in which the developer carrier 2 and stir member 3 are accommodated. In the developing device 1, the supply device 4 is configured such that the lengthwise supply part of the stir member 3 is divided into a plurality of ranges.
