<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device excellent in stability of optical characteristics against temperature changes and to provide an optical transmitter-receiver using the device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical device comprises a substrate 5 having a first recessed part 15, an optical element 4 having a first light incident/exit face and placed in the first recessed part, and a first optical waveguide body 9a fixed to the substrate 5 and having one end face facing to the first light incident/exit face. The first light incident/exit face of the optical element 4 is fixed to a side face of the first recessed part 15, the side face facing the first light incident/exit face, with an adhesive 6 provided apart from the bottom face of the first recessed part 15, and is connected to one end face of the first optical waveguide body 9a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
