PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a heat exchanger, and the heat exchanger of high accuracy in dimension by filling a gap between components, formed in accompany with melting of brazing filler metal in brazing, in the manufacturing method of the heat exchanger by constituting a core 3 by stacking flat tubes 2 coated with the brazing filler metal, and fitting a casing 4 to an outer periphery of the core, and integrally brazing and fixing them as a whole. SOLUTION: The casing 4 is composed of a first case 4a bent into a groove-shaped cross section, and a second case 4b of which both edge portions are slightly risen, both edges of the first case 4a are fitted to the both edge portions of the second case 4b, and the fitting portions are held in a state of being slightly movable in the stacking direction. The whole is integrally brazed and fixed in a state that the second case 4b is positioned at a lower side, and the first case 4a is compressed in the vertical direction.
