PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent undried veneers shaved from the same raw timber from being stripped in arrangement order different from arrangement order during shaving. SOLUTION: A veneer deposition machine 5 is provided at the rear position of a veneer cutting apparatus 4A positioned at the rear position of a veneer lathe. With regard to veneer 2 having at least an unnecessary part, at least part of the unnecessary part is cut off by using the veneer cutting apparatus 4A. The interval between veneers is adjusted to be a desired interval or narrower. The veneers are cut in a standard length to form a raw standard size veneer group 2A having the standard length. The raw standard size veneer groups 2A are deposited in a desired height to form the deposition stack 6A of the raw standard size veneer groups having the desired height. Next, when the deposition stack 6A is conveyed to the front position of a raw veneer laterally stripping apparatus 8A, after the direction of the deposition stack 6A is reversed, it is conveyed to the front position of the apparatus 8A. The raw standard size veneer groups 2A are taken out in turn from the upper part of the deposition stack 6A to be inserted into the raw veneer laterally stripping apparatus 8A.
