A vapor-emitting device according to various embodiments of the invention includes an end-of-use indicator to visually warn a user that the device is nearing the time and/or has reached the time for replacement or refilling. The vapor-emitting device minimally includes a housing containing a gel-based vapor-emitting material and an end-of-use indicator suspended therein and attached to a portion of the housing. In a preferred embodiment, the housing comprises a cover that is displaceable relative to a base. A gel material is contained within the housing having disposed therein an end-of-use indicator. The end-of-use indicator is configured as an indicia strip to visually indicate when the gel material evaporates below a pre-determined level.
