<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive cold cathode electrode member capable of surely securing airtight sealing ability in soft glass, and preventing the leakage of a sealed part by suppressing a reaction with mercury, a cold cathode lamp using the electrode member, and a lighting system to which the cold cathode lamp is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: The cold cathode electrode member 5A has a sealing lead wire 6A having a surface layer of a copper-nickel alloy which is formed by coating nickel and copper, or copper, nickel, and copper one by one on the surface of a core wire 61 of an ion-nickel alloy, and diffusing copper in a nickel layer by heat treatment, and a cold cathode 7A connected to one end of the sealing lead wire 6A.
